This antique Victorian era black silk beaded tassel lace ruffle mantle cape dates from 1880. It is made of a black silk grosgrain ribbed textured fabric, with silk covered button trim and beaded tassel accents. There is a black lace ruffle jabot front and trim edging. This marvelous mourning mantle style cape has a high collar neckline, long lappet front panels, a small layered lace bustle back, broad shoulder cap sleeves, open sides, with ribbon strap ties, hook and eye closures down the front.
