op vakantie

Hallo lieve lezers!!
Als het goed is gaan we vanaf morgenmiddag op vakantie, vandaag inpakken en huisje schoonmaken..Waarheen weten we nog niet..in ieder geval met een tent..op naar het mooie weer!!!..Eerst nog even naar de Vrijbuiter (heel gevaarlijk) een camping winkel in Roden voor de laatste spulletjes. Ik zie jullie over 3 weekjes weer!!!

victorian linen bustle dress 1880

This bustle dress has three unlined pieces: a long bodice, an under skirt, and a draped over skirt. The pieces are embellished with embroidered, scalloped borders and with darker brown piping on some seams.

In the late 19th century, a favorite fashion theme was a light brown linen garment trimmed with dark brown accents.

The long bodice is gracefully shaped with princess line seams. The sleeves are set into the armholes with self-corded piping. The dress has wide cuffs and pockets on the side back.

The under skirt is longer and fuller in back. The elaborate draping of the over skirt is held in place with inside ties. This ingenious construction allows the the wearer to open out the skirt for ironing. The overskirt has a long pleated pocket.

Deze bustle jurk bestaat uit drie ongevoerde stukken: een lang lijfje, een onderrok, en een gedrapeerde boven rok.

De stukken worden zijn versierd met geborduurde banden en met het donkerdere paspel (omboordsel met vulkoorden) op sommige naden. In de late 19e eeuw, was het een favoriet, lichtbruine kleding met donkerbruine accenten.

Het lange lijfje wordt elegant gevormd door de taillering. De armen werden hier bevestigd in de armsgaten met paspel. De kleding heeft brede manchetten en zakken op de zijkant. De onderrok is langer en bol in rug. Het gedrappeerde van de overrok wordt op zijn plaats gehouden met binnenbanden. Deze ingenieuze bouw staat de drager toe om de rok te openen voor het strijken. Overrok heeft een lange geplooide zak.

Dit schattige kinderjurkje is gemaakt van helder wit katoenen piqué (Katoenachtige stof met patronen. De patronen ontstaan door het gebruik van vuldraden.) . De textuur van het weefsel is benadrukt met banden van gevlochten katoenen versiering en ruches. De rijen van stof knopen zijnaan de voorkant decoratief en maken de sluiting achter op de rug.

Heb zelf nog nooit een korset of jurk gemaakt waarbij je baleinen enz gebruikt..lijkt me in de toekomst wel helemaal leuk!! Dan heb ik tenminste dit adresje al..het is een webwinkel waar je de benodigdheden kan bestellen...en ze organiseren workshops!!..das natuurlijk helemaal mooi!!

I never made a dress or corset where you use busks etc..i'm sure in the future i will do that..Than ive got at least this adres!!..its a webshop where you can order the materials...and they organise workshops!!

THE HAMILTON WOMEN speelt zich af in Calais in 1786. De film is gebaseerd op een waargebeurd verhaal, het leven van Amy Lyon. Emma (later Lady Hamilton) gaat trouwen met haar geliefde maar omdat hij schulden had, wordt ze verkocht aan Sir William Hamilton. Dit pikt ze niet, Hamilton weet haar over te halen en beloofd wanneer ze met hem trouwt ze alles krijgt wat ze maar wil..Ze stemt toe.
Emma wordt later verliefd op een Britse officier en samen krijgen ze een kind en wonen gelukkig op het platteland..Ze legt de vete met de oude Hamilton niet bij zodat ze ook niks erft. Tijdens de oorlog overlijdt de officier en Emma blijft beroerd achter.

At the moment i cant find the time to sew a lot..so than i search on the internet for inspiration. I found this beatifull regency dress. You can really have a good look how the dress closes at the back. That i love the most!!!..make costumes like the old ones!!...so i love the internet!!..because you can find really great photo's from atiques.

The dress is fashioned from ivory silk shantung brocaded with small Neo-classical motifs of metallic silver. The front neckline is bordered with matching metallic trim.

Judging from the construction of the dress, I believe it was made in America from imported fabric for a young lady of means (one of the Lincoln descendents). Metallic textiles, very expensive at the time, were found in the wardrobes of wealthy people
The dress is completely hand stitched and has a linen under bodice in back. The fullness of the bodice and sleeves is adjustable with drawstring ties. The dress closes in back at the neckline with ties and at the empire waist with a hook.

Everyone who is reading my blog, knows that im get verry exciting when i see costumes movies. And those with excessive imaginative over the top costumes and make up and hair dos i love the most!!!!!.
