Binnenkort wordt er een bal georganiseerd door http://www.stichtingreverence.nl/ ..Een bal zoals je ze zou zien in de jane austen tijd..

Helaas is er niemand uit de familie of vriendenkring die zich ziet rondparaderen in een mooie jurk..dus zal ik alleen moeten..

En ik ben een enorme held op sokken...boehoe..moet er nog een nachtje over slapen of ik zal gaan of niet..

Maar als er voor ga..wordt dit mijn inspiratie voor de jurk!!..mooi is hij he??

janet arnold riding habit

Im getting verry frustrated!!!..aaaahh..
My sewing and patterndrawing skills are not that good that i can make from an janet arnold 1/8 scale pattern (inches) a full women pattern for my body only in cm.
Im taking sewing lessons and next year learn to draw a pattern so i have to be patient.

I bought some cm grid paper..and copied the riding habit pattern. 1 1/8 inch grid(janet arnold)=1 cm grid (copy)
Its going te be small..maybe my daughters BabyBorn doll can wear it hihihi.
But i think its going to help me understand the pattern..and how to sew it together..!

As you could read i bought a pattern from Butterick (at the back site they tell me that it is a womans early 20th century dress)..but ..is it than a victorian dress..like these ones???

Yesterday i bought this pattern from http://www.naaipatronen.nl/ . Instead of the bleu fabric they using here i ordered..fantastic apple green cotton (the skirt) and apple green corduroy for the jacket. I want to make a costume ..verry colored like the dresses from Nanny mcPhee.

Like this one..apple green with pink..so i only have to find pink lace and ribbon.

Heb zelf nog nooit een korset of jurk gemaakt waarbij je baleinen enz gebruikt..lijkt me in de toekomst wel helemaal leuk!! Dan heb ik tenminste dit adresje al..het is een webwinkel waar je de benodigdheden kan bestellen...en ze organiseren workshops!!..das natuurlijk helemaal mooi!!

it will be a enchanted dress

this will be my next sewing project...a dress inspired by the dress from enchanted..http://www.flickr.com/photos/akaitori/2395164032/ yesterday i ordered the fabrics at http://www.destoffenkraam.nl/ a smoothly fine white cotton fabric, for the under dress and a pink fine cotton fabric for the upper dress. I found the pattern in a old knipmode. So wait wait... for the fabrics to come!!!!

Werk 1 kant en de zijkanten van de strook stof af met bv een lock machine, aan de andere kant naai je een draad (of 2 draden) zodat je kan rimpelen (zet draadspanning zo laag mogelijk en de steeklengte het hoogst, rechte steek)
Trek de draden aan zodat de stof gaat rimpelen, vouw de einden om en naai ze met de hand vast.
Rol de gerimpelde strook op zodat je mooi bloem of pompom krijgt..ondertussen naai je met de hand de strook her en der vast ..draai de bloem om en zorg dat de achterkant mooi afgewerkt wordt.

Youtube is a really nice way to find some amazing ideas....like to make a beautifull titanic hair updo...or the one i found..how to tie an OBI..i think it goes verry well with a regency dress...you dont have to sew it on a dress..choose a exlusive fabric to make the OBI..and a plain white gown will look verry special..and you can change the OBI when you want.
